Welcome!
Hello, my name is Dr. Jennifer Schmidt and I have been practicing family and hospice medicine in Maryland for over 22 years. In 2017, I became a medical cannabis certifying physician because hospice patients immediately started asking about using cannabis as part of their treatment plans. At first, I was hesitant about recommending cannabis simply because of a lack of knowledge regarding its use. It quickly became clear to me, however, that this remarkable plant had the capacity to treat a wide range of symptoms successfully with fewer side effects than traditional medications.
Over the years, I have seen firsthand how cannabis can help patients manage numerous medical conditions and improve their overall quality of life. Unfortunately, because cannabis was falsely classified as a highly dangerous substance and banned in the U.S. for more than sixty years, there are several generations of patients and medical providers alike that lack the basic education to utilize cannabis to its fullest potential.
I decided to start Cannabis Education Services to help fill the knowledge gap between patient and provider curiosity and using cannabis as a medicine. My mission is to teach patients and the medical providers that will be caring for them how to use cannabis responsibly, successfully, and safely. I strongly believe that cannabis is a powerful medicine, and it should be treated that way. I hope that you find my courses helpful in achieving better health for you, your family, or your patients.
Jennifer Schmidt, D.O.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who might benefit from taking the Cannabis for beginners course?
Some of the medical practitioners that I see do not recommend cannabis and I feel uncomfortable telling them that I am thinking about or have started using cannabis, what should I do?
Do I need to complete a purchased course all at one time?
How long will I have access to a course once it has been purchased?
What if some of the cannabis products or laws are not relevant to to the state or country in which I live?
Most of the information presented is general in nature and should be applicable for people who have legal access to cannabis. The cannabis industry is a fast-paced and ever changing landscape of products, rules and regulations. Every state or country has different laws regarding who may use cannabis, what products are available and how much cannabis each person is allowed to posses. In the U.S., the National Conference of State Legislatures website (www.ncsl.org) maintains a database concerning cannabis laws in each state. Always seek legal advice if you are unsure about which laws apply to you and your situation.
